Disabled Adults

At Bear Givers, we pride ourselves on bringing joy and the gift of giving to people all over the world, in all walks of life, and because of this we notice an abundance of organizations and services available for children and young adults with disabilities. However, there is often a lack of services and organizations for adults with disabilities. In honor of this often forgotten group, we want to shed some light on some of the incredible organizations that can specifically help adults with disabilities!

Creating a Safe Space

As summer draws nearer and vaccinations roll out across the country, you may be wondering how you can break out of the “new normal” routine we all created a year ago with the pandemic shutdowns. Most families with special needs don’t take to change easily, as it’s difficult to change their routine often and doing so can cause them a lot of stress. So how do you get your neurodiverse family back into the habit of being outdoors, or around others again?

Staying Warm this Year

If you have a child with special needs in your life then you know the struggle of getting them to appropriately bundle up in the winter to protect them from the cold! Children, and adults, with autism have an increased sensitivity to different textures and layers.
