Teddy Bear Clinic at Rusk Rehabilitation Center

We had an incredible time hosting a Teddy Bear Clinic with the Child Life Department for the young patients at NYU Langone’s Rusk Rehabilitation Center! Each child became a doctor for the day, naming their teddy bear patients, taking temperatures, giving medicine and shots, checking heartbeats, and even trying out walkers and wheelchairs.

This special kind of play helps children better understand and feel more at ease with the medical treatments they may experience themselves. Each child took their new teddy bear friend home with them, along with a mini medical kit to continue the healing fun!

It’s been a while since we last partnered with Rusk, and we were absolutely thrilled to reconnect, especially with Lisa Del Guidice whose support has made all of our collaborations possible. We are grateful to Lisa and Becky for facilitating this fun and educational event.
